If you build it - it will come

A good friend of mine has the theory that if you build it it will come. She put this theory to the test by creating a nursery for the child they were hoping to one day have. I thought this was a wonderful idea so her and I made plans to paint my nursery. Turns out the weekend we had set aside to paint her prayers were answered and they adopted a precious baby boy. So the theory worked. I did end up painting the guestroom / future nursery a few months ago to put the theory to the test again and here we are. I have had the border since I have painted, although it is not up yet, and we received the bedding the other day - so exciting. Little by little our dream and prayers for a baby are starting to seem like reality.
Brian seems to think some of the things I do are "voo doo" - I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion. The theory of building it and it will come was a notion that he dismissed rather easily - although he will humor me support me when I do my crazy things. As most of you know Brian recently purchased a newer and bigger pickup. One of his comments to me when he was telling me how we NEED (not want) this new truck was "Erin, it has more room for a car seat in the back and you know someday we are going to need the space." It wasn't more than 5 days after he drove the truck off the lot that we learned of our news. I have even heard him telling people - if you build it it will come - not such a crazy idea anymore.
I should add one more note about voo doo. A while back I was introduced to a person, Peggy, who does "Reki" they say it is for spiritual healing, self-improvement and I think it is suppose to neutralize your body's energies. Anyway I went to one session and was a little disappointed - she had all good things to say, no energies to change...I was a very positive person with loving energies...boring I wanted to find out how unbalanced I was.
Someone that I know still has sessions with her and if very happy with the results that she has seen, we will call her "Beth". Now not everyone believes that people can have these powers or be so in tune with the universe but what happens next is very odd. Again about a week before we found out we were expecting "Beth" approaches me one day and said, "I wasn't suppose to tell you this but... I saw Peggy the other day and she asked how you were and if you were expecting. I told her no that you were still trying. Peggy then told me that she had a very strong positive feeling that you are pregnant." I assured her that we were not and again not long after that conversation we had a positive pregnancy test.
