Afternoon with Mom

Annabelle got to spend the afternoon at home with me today. I had the afternoon off anyway and was pretty sure I was going to pick Annabelle up early and spend the afternoon with her. I received a call from daycare at about 10am to inform me that they thought Annabelle had impetigo. I finished up what I had to do at work, scheduled a doctor appointment and was off to pick her up. The doctor didn't think that he rash was impetigo but she brought in the dermatologist for a second opinion. He agreed that it probably was not impetigo and they gave us some cream to help the rash go away. I also had the doctor look in her ears since we were there. Daycare informed me last week that she had been digging in her ears. I attributed that to her eye infection that she had before Thanksgiving. We brought her in thinking she had pink eye but the doctor told us that she didn't have pink eye and thought maybe her sinuses were draining and that was causing her eyes to be gunky and why she was digging in her ears. Her eyes have gotten better and she seemed to be in a good mood, sleeping all night and didn't seem off. Anyway the doctor looked in her ears today and sure enough she has an ear infection. So it is a good thing that we went to the clinic. They also weighed her and she is up to 23 pounds and according to the charts that I found on the intranet she is up to the 45th percentile! A year ago she was so light she wasn't even on the charts anymore - she has come such a long way. We are hoping now that her eyes, ears and mouth have been infected we are done for a while.
