The Things Kids Say
I think she is tired
Getting so big!
I could probably post everyday with the things that Annabelle says that crack us up. She makes us smile everyday and it is so much fun having a conversation with her. We bought Cole a new car seat so now I can have one in the car and Brian can have one in the truck. The new one for my car is a forward facing one and since he is big enough we turned him around. The first morning on the way to daycare I put the kids in the car and Annabelle was mad! "I can't see Cole, can't touch him, can't make him laugh! Mommy no - mommy time out!" was all I heard for blocks. Before he sat right next to her and faced her so they could see each other, touch each other and she could really get him laughing. I think Cole was having a great time he was smiling and talking the whole way to daycare, but what do I know he could have been chewing me out as well. She makes me smile. We then drove past the repair shop where Brian gets his truck fixes - or the "truck doctor" as Annabelle calls it. She then forgot about being mad at me and focused on Cole's doctor. "Doctor poked Cole" "Yes Annabelle he did." "Doctor gave Cole and owie - doctor timeout." and this was the conversation the rest of the way to daycare.
Cole continues to improve on his walking every day. I would say he now walks about 50% of the time. Usually when he falls he takes off crawling until he can find something to climb up on to get back on his feet. He is just starting to learn to stand while in the middle of the floor. He has also figured out how to crawl up on things. His new favorite thing to do is crawl up in the little chair that we have. He is pretty proud when he gets up. I can't believe how fast our little man is growing!
1 Year Check Up
Starting him young
Cole went to the doctor the other day for his one year check up and he got a clean bill of health - which didn't surprise us. We are very lucky Cole has not been to the doctor since his 6 month check up. We are very blessed to have happy healthy kids! Once again I was surprised at how much he weighed. He was 23 pounds - I thought he was heavier and he was 30 inches - again I thought he would be longer. He is in the 60th percentile for both. The doctor said everything looks good with Cole and he seems right on track. The appointment needed with 6 shots for poor Cole and he had to get his blood drawn. He handled it like a trouper. He cried during but his cry was more of a mad yell than an in pain cry. He had a tough night sleeping that night but after a day or two he was good to go.

Happy Birthday Coleman!!
I can't believe that Cole is 1!! It doesn't seem like that long ago we were waiting for him to make his big arrival.
We were not quite sure what kind of party we were going to end up with. My mom came up on Thrusday because Friday we were suppose to have some pretty nasty weather. She made it up with no problems and Friday brought some freezing rain and blowing snow. I don't think it was as bad as they had predicted but it still would have made for some tough traveling and Friday night we were wondering if my dad would be able to make it up. Saturday morning dad left to make the journey and we were talking to Brian's parents to see if they were going to be able to make it down. Right away in the morning it didn't look good. Road conditions were not the greatest so we decided that the Carrington clan would come down on Sunday when the weather was better. We planned the party for about 20 people and it was slowing turning into about 5 or 6. The weather in the morning cooperated and at noon Brian's family decided they were going to make it!! I was excited, even though Cole has no idea what is going on it was really nice to have everyone here to celebrate his first birthday on the day!! Thanks to everyone who made it - we are very thankful that you were able to celebrate with us!
