Another Week

Annabelle always wants to make sure she knows where Cole is and that he is ok I am really not sure where the times goes. Not much eventful happened this week - just the same old thing, which is sometimes ok. Cole had really started to roll around. As soon as you lay him on the floor he flips over to his tummy and then either plays with his toys or wiggles and rolls around until he is no where close to where he started. Annabelle still loves to sit on the potty and has gone quite a few times, hopefully in July things will slow down and we can concentrate on potty training her. This weekend we are planning a trip to MN to visit my family. I really hope the car ride goes well.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father’s Day. We had a fun weekend in Carrington visiting Brian’s family. It is always a good time when everyone gets together and there are always so many kids running around that they all have such a great time. Annabelle had a big weekend - she things she is big enough to ride a bike. Brian said while she was outside she climbed onto it twice all by herself and tried to peddle. She didn’t quite get the hang of it but I think with some practice she will be riding around in no time. I can’t believe how fast she is growing up.

5K

We had a busy weekend. Saturday the kids and I walked a 5K with one of my good friends. I was actually on the ball and got everything ready to go the night before. Michele had let me use Ian's stroller so I was making sure they both fit in the trunk of the car - and they do. Saturday morning when I went to pick up Katie she told me her 3 1/2 year old nephew was coming with. I asked her if she wanted me to go back and get the double stroller and she said no Noah would walk the whole way (I had my doubts but she knows him better than I do). When the walk started Cole was fast asleep in his stroller and Annabelle has in the other stroller eating a snack. Noah was full of energy and kept running ahead of us then waiting for us to catch up. It was literally right after the 1K sign he told Katie he was tired and wanted a piggy back ride. She tried for to give him one while pushing one of the strollers and it didn't go so well (should have got a pic of that) so then we decided that they could both probably fit in one stroller - and they did. Annabelle decided at one point that she wanted to walk so we let her try but her poor legs are so little it would have taken forever. We finally got them both to stay in the stroller - we just kept feeding them snacks - and we were able to finish our walk. It was a great start to the morning!

5 months

I can't believe Cole is already 5 months old. All I can say is he is such a cute little guy and I can't believe how fast the time goes!

Look out here they come!

Cole has had an eventful past few days. Actually now things have calmed down - I am a little behind on keeping this up to date. Last Thursday evening I noticed something new in Cole's mouth - yep his first tooth was coming through. We were so excited. By Friday afternoon the tooth was through and you could see the 2nd one trying to come out as well. I was not too surprised that the 2nd was starting because Annabelle's teeth came close together also - by Sunday the 2nd tooth was through. He is such a trooper! The funny thing about Cole teething is he literally just started sleeping through the night at the end of last week - who knows maybe teething will be as easy with him as it was with Annabelle. With the first two down this easy I have high hopes for him. We are so lucky to have 2 wonderful easy children!!

Potty

Annabelle at the Kite Festival ... where is Cole?? He slept the whole time we were there. Annabelle has decided that she wants to go to the bathroom on the potty. I know this sounds like a great thing to most people but Brian and I are not ready. For a few weeks she has started saying "gotta pee" and our response is, "no you don't" but in the past few days we have started listening to her and letting her try. Guess what - she is doing it. I would say about 1/2 the time she goes and the other 1/2 she just sits there and then says she is all done, but it is a start. She has also pooped on the potty and I think she would more if she could sit still for more than a minute. She has been telling us when she has to go, we will help her sit down and after she is off for about 5 minutes she will have a messy diaper and then want it changed. She is just growing up way too fast - we are not ready for our baby to be a big girl. We do have a busy month so I don't think we are going to really push the potty training until we are done with our weekend traveling. For now we are just going to listen to her when she says she has to go and encourage her to use the bathroom.

4 months

I have had a hard time making the time to update our posts so I am a little behind. Cole went to the doctor last week for his 4 month check up. His appointment kept getting pushed back so it was almost a 5 month appointment. Everything is going great. Cole weighs 16 pounds 12 ounces, I expected him to be bigger, and is 26 inches tall. He is in the 80th percentile for both his height and weight. The whole family came to the dr appointment because Annabelle had to have her ear re-checked. I wanted Brian to be there so when Cole got his shots one of us could take Annabelle out of the room, I didn't think she really needed to see that. When we first got there we undressed Cole so we could weigh him and afterward he was sitting on my lap with just his diaper on. Annabelle was walking around the room and walked right over to Cole and grabbed his nipple and twisted it - it was so hard not to laugh - Brian and I are both wondering where in the world she learned that. When the dr came in he looked in Annabelle's ear first. I told her she didn't have to cry because it wasn't going to hurt and she had to show Cole that is isn't scary - it worked and she didn't cry. Then it was Cole's turn. The dr looked in his ears - as he was looking in one Annabelle was trying to look in the other. Then the dr felt Cole's stomach - so Annabelle started feeling Cole's stomach. Everything that he did she wanted to try. Then came time for shots. Brian took Annabelle back to the waiting room and the team of nurses came in. He only had to get 2 shots and they do one in each leg at the same time. I was holding his arms and as soon as they stuck him he got this shocked look on his face. It literally took a few seconds for him to cry - they almost had the band aids on before he let out a cry. He whimpered for a few seconds and that was it - what a trouper! We also got approval to start Cole on rice cereal. He seems to be doing well with it. I just can't believe how fast he is growing - pretty soon he won't be our little baby anymore.

Stool

Annabelle putting Charlie's collar away all by herself Annabelle has been climbing onto things for a long time and it getting good at it. She can get onto all the couches and dining room chairs. Her arms are also getting long enough that she can reach things off of the table (and if it is too far on the table she has figured out to climb onto the chair and then she can get it) and she can even reach things off of the counter. This past week she has discovered that if she carries her stool around it makes reaching and climbing up on to things even easier. I am actually surprised that she didn't figured that out earlier and she is good enough and getting into things that I wasn't going to show her any trick to help her. She has also discovered that using her stool she can do things all by herself - which makes her very proud and also very determined to accomplish things on her own. Other than that Annabelle is doing well. She is talking non-stop. Most of the things we can understand but once in a while she will go off and just ramble and it makes no sense at all. She loves playing outside and has also developed a great love for Charlie. Every night before bed time she gives kisses to everyone; nine times out of ten she will give Charlie at least 2 kisses then say "luv you" - pretty sure she doesn't say that to anyone else.
