Our Little Cow

Annabelle went to her fist Halloween Party tonight and she seemed to really enjoy it. I was a little worried how it was going to go because she didn't take a nap today but I think there was so much going on and so many people to watch that she forgot all about being tired. She played a few games but was more interested in walking around and checking out all the other great costumes. On the way home though she didn't last very long before she fell asleep.
Last week was out last week of swimming and she really enjoyed it. Her favorite thing to do by the end of the month was still to stand on the edge of the pool and jump off. It was a fun month but I am ready to spend a few week nights at home for the next few weeks.

A sneak Peek

We finally had an ultrasound today and finally we were able to catch a glimpse of Little E. We, or more so Brian, held strong and we didn't find out the gender although the ultrasound tech said baby was showing it off. She told us it was pretty obvious which makes me think it is a boy but on the other hand I didn't see anything so it makes me think it is a girl so basically we still have no idea. Baby weighs about 3 pounds and everything looks good!

Little Miss Personality

Annabelle is really developing her own personality and it has been so much fun to watch it come out. She loves to help us with whatever we are doing. This weekend she helped make pancakes for breakfast and she has started to want to carry a purse around on her shoulder. She definitely know what she wants and is starting to figure out how to get what she wants. She hasn't figured out how to climb up on things to reach something that she wants but I don't think that is too far off. She loves to climb on anything she can find and before long she will figure out to move it so she can reach something that she has her eye on. She is also really starting to understand what we are telling her. I can tell her to give Brian a hug and kiss before bed and she goes right over and does it. That seems pretty simple but lately we have asked her to bring us things and most of the time she will do it. She also likes to either nod or shake her head when you ask her a question. Today we went to Carrington for Brian's Grandma's Birthday - she is 97! Anyway at breakfast we asked her if she was going to behave at the party and she shook her head no :) she is so funny - turns out she did a wonderful job at the party, but she makes us laugh.

Check Up

We had a routine dr appointment last week and everything still seems to be going well. At this appointment I had to have a test done to see if I have gestational diabetes. The test is not fun - you can't eat or drink before, at the dr office you drink a sugar drink that makes the baby move like craze (that part is fun) and then you have to wait an hour and have your blood drawn. If you fail the first one you have to go back and have another one but the second time you have to have drink a sugar drink and have your blood drawn every hour for 3 hours and you are unable to eat or drink anything else until the test is done. It is not fun being pregnant and not being able to eat until almost noon.
I was very excited for this appointment because the dr has been telling me we can have an ultrasound around 30 weeks. We are 28 weeks so I figured that was close enough. When I asked him he told me we had to wait to get the blood test results back and then I could schedule it - I told the dr I don't know how much longer I can wait to see our new little miracle. By the end of the conversation it sounded like we should be able to schedule one sometime next week either on the same day as my 3 hour blood test or if I pass we can do it what ever day we would like. I was a little disappointed that we don't know what day it will be but at least it should only be a few days away.
Well...we got the results of the blood test today and in order to pass the level of what ever they test had to be under 140 - My level was 139 - which means I passed woo hoo! That also means I should be able to call Monday and schedule an ultrasound for what ever day works for us next week :)

28 Weeks

Little E is equal in weight to a Chinese Cabbage - about 2 1/4 pounds. Length is almost 15 inches from head to heel.

Bed Time

This week has flown by and I can't believe October is 1/2 over! Swimming is still going well although I am not sure who is more tired afterwards Annabelle or myself but she loves it and it is fun to watch her splash around.
Our new adventure this week is to try and stop rocking Annabelle to sleep every night. I love spending that time with her at night but realistically in a few months it will be nice if she can go to bed on her own most of the time. It has only been a few nights but it seems to be going well. It is a bonus that she doesn't sleep during the day so she is ready for bed at night. Our new routine is to read a book and rock while she has a drink of milk. Once the book is done and she is pretty relaxed I put her in her crib. Knock on wood she has been cooperating with me. Then I will rub her back until she falls asleep. It takes quite a bit longer than just rocking her but I keep telling myself it will be worth it. I am hoping that eventually once we read a book I can put her in her crib and she will know how to put herself to sleep. I guess time will tell...she will have to learn it sometime.
Once again we are spending a quite weekend at home and I think we all need it. It is nice to relax and get a few things done around the house before the busy week starts again.
Things with Baby #2 still seem to be going well. It seems like baby moves all the time - it is kind of fun :) I can tell a difference in how fast I get tired with this one compared to with Annabelle. It was definitely easier when I didn't have a 14 month old to case/carry around, but it still isn't bad. It is hard to believe that we now have just under 3 months left until we will be a family of 4.

27 Weeks

Little E is as hefty as a head of cauliflower weighing in at over 2 pounds. Length is about 14 1/2 inches.

No Free Time

It seems like this month we are just going going going. Annabelle has so many things to do it is nuts. Monday evening we have sign class and Tuesdays and Thursdays she has swimming. Thinking about it that is only 3 days but it seems like we are never home. By the time we get home from work and get her fed it is time to run off to one of her events. She is still only napping for 30-45 min a day at daycare so by 7:00 she is ready for bed and we are lucky if we are even home by 7. I will say though she has done well with the busy schedule.
Swimming lessons are going to be the highlight of the month. She LOVES them! The point of the class is to get kids use to being in the water; we sing songs with them and show them how to splash around, kick their feet, blow bubbles and every time we go they get dunked (which doesn't bother Annabelle at all). Her favorite thing to do is sit on the side of the pool and jump off. It only took a few times of sitting and she decided that was not fun enough and she now insists on standing and jumping in. What a little dare devil! Class is only 30 minutes long and I know by the end of class I am tried. My good friend and her little boy are taking swimming with us and it is fun to watch Annabelle and Ian interact. It is also interesting to see the two of them because they are 17 months apart (which is what the new baby and Annabelle will be) so it is almost like a preview of what is to come for us in the next few years. I hope Annabelle and her brother/sister get along as well as she does with Ian.
