Little Pink Dots

Last week I had Lending Meetings in Fargo for work. Annabelle has been a little congested for a while and over the weekend had developed a cough. Brian had told me that if I didn't take her to the doctor to make sure she was okay they were going to come to Fargo with me. I didn't think that was a bad idea but apparently it was a threat not an offer to come with - so off to the doctor we went. Her lungs sounded fine and the doctor said she was okay but since she has been congested he prescribed amoxicillian to get rid of anything she may have. This was Monday and I left on Tuesday morning. I was a little nervous with her never being on medication before that she would have an allergic reaction to it when I was gone but she handled it fine.

This last Monday I went to feed her at noon and when I picked her up she was covered in little pink dots. After she was done eating I looked and there was a rash from her head to her toes (she had clear skin when we brought her to daycare). I called Brian and his first reaction was "she has measles" I assured him that wasn't the case (he is such a funny man). We called the clinic and they wanted to see her so back to the doctor we went. They wouldn't say for sure that it was an allergic reaction but they took her off the medication anyway. Now after a few days it is clearing up. She is such a trooper and has still been full of smiles!
Side note: they weighed her at the clinic and she is almost 13 pounds yeah :)

6 months

In less than a week little Annabelle will be 6 months old. Just think 6 months ago it was the middle of summer, 80 degrees and thunder storms - how things change. Annabelle is having her 6 month pictures taken on Saturday and here is a sneak peek at what she is planning to wear.

Chillin'

Annabelle hanging out drinking a bottle, so far a rare occurrence - although the more teeth she gets the more bottles she may get as well (she still only 2 but I think more are on the way)

Sippy Cup

I introduced Annabelle to a sippy cup today, she didn't do to bad. First she ate her rice cereal and then I figured I would let her wash it down with something. I put 2oz in the cup just to see what she would do. At first she didn't want to hold it but would suck out of it if I held it up. After a bit she figured out what to do. I think she needs to get use to sitting and drinking. She is just growing up to fast!

Sitting

Things are always changing at our house or so it seems. Annabelle can sit up all on her own. I am really not sure when it happened it just seemed like one day we sat down to play and I didn't have to hold her up anymore. I still don't quite trust her to sit without someone or something behind her, I fear that she will tip over and the hardwood floor may not be what she wants to land on. She loves this new view on the world and now she wants to sit or stand (with help of coarse) all the time and has to be in just the right mood to lay on the floor. She loves to be able to grab and play with all of her toys instead of just reaching for them when she is laying down. I know it won't be long and she will be moving around and Brian and I won't know what to do.

Annabelle is still loving her rice cereal and loves to reach for everything that she can see. She is such a great baby and we are very blessed to have her in our life. We really couldn't ask for anything else!

Attached at the Hip

Happy New Year!

2010 was an awesome year and I am sure I don't have to tell you why. We are really looking forward to what Annabelle has in store for us in 2011.

Annabelle has been going through a phase where she notices when you leave her in a room alone. Some times she is ok with it and plays with the toys that are on the floor, other times however she just gets mad. One of my girlfriends gave me this thing to carry her around in and it works great when she wants to be with me and I want to get some things done. I know she has to learn to play by herself but I figure she is at daycare all day long so when I am home with her we can spend as much time together as she would like to.
